Angolan Python (Python anchietae)
Angolan Pythons inhabit parts of Angola and Namibia. For years this was one of the rarest pythons in captivity due to a lack of imports available to the pet trade. In Namibia they are considered a national treasure and in Angola land mines left over from a long civil war have made collection dangerous. Adult size ranges from 4-6 ft in length . Increased successes in captive breeding has made them more available to private collectors in recent years. Angolans are covered in bead like scales and are vertically compressed suggesting a rock crevice habitat in the wild. They are a very interesting snake to work with and have a very inquisitive nature.
