This is a small and distinctively colored species averaging 60-90cm in length. Black kingsnakes range from western Sonora thru northwestern Sinaloa, Mexico. This is a shy and reclusive serpent. Black kingsnakes often show a preference for smaller meals than other similar sized snakes.
