Our group of amethistina are locality animals from the Aru archipelago. This population seems to average somewhat smaller than the mainland New Guinea forms with most adults averaging 7-10ft in length. These are spirited pythons which demand more from their keepers than many species. Though definitely not for novice python keepers, the Scrub python makes a fascinating captive for the more advanced herpetoculturist.
